Michael Jackson’s doctor has been charged with involuntary manslaughter in connection with the pop star’s death.
Prosecutors in Los Angeles alleged Dr Conrad Murray “did unlawfully, and without malice, kill Michael Joseph Jackson”.
If convicted of the charge, the star’s physician faces up to four years in prison.
Murray’s attorney Ed Chernoff said the doctor will plead not guilty.
Jackson hired Murray to be his personal physician as he prepared for his comeback performances at London’s o2 arena.
Toxicology tests found massive amounts of anaesthetic in Jackson’s body and ruled that his death on the June 25 last year was homicide by drugs overdose.
